This process has been long but truly something I enjoyed! In my target language, I learned much about the French culture and the depiction of storytelling. Many of the stories I have read are very humorous and bizarre! For example, 'Le Petit Prince' was such a funny book, and I based much of my story off of his life; living alone on a planet,or moon. I constantly had to rewrite some parts and change the format so that it made sense, as one cannot directly translate from English. It took about 20 hours to complete my story and the entire book. I faced of course the challenge of conjugation. This year we learned a tense, Passe Simple, for storytelling in French. It basically is the older version of how the French people spoke. That was extremely hard to use, thus I used something much more modern; Imparfait and Passe Compose. This are all past tense, however the format is different. I found it quite helpful to have a supervisor, Ms.Cousin, who checked over the majority of my work. Overall, it was quite a fun experience, epecially learning new phrases/words like voie lactee (milk way in astrology), and I enjoyed writing. I hope you enjoy it!
